Welcome to my playground! Here you will find demos of my Advanced Profile Kit and Advanced Forum as well other social networking modules. The idea is to show how Drupal can be used to make a social networking site and give you an idea of what modules to use to build your own.

When I built the original SocNet in D5, I threw it together in just a few hours. It was meant to be a quick demo and was far from polished. Still, it became very popular and turned into an unofficial demo site for many modules.

With this D6 rebuild, I am taking my time and trying to make the site nicer. I'm still sticking to my philosophy of using modules as is without custom coding as much as possible but I am taking more care in putting them together and configuring them rather than just enabling them. I am also using this as the foundation for the rebuild of Coulee Region Online and am documenting it in an extended case study / eBook. I think this will make for a much more useful demo site but it also is going to take a lot longer to make.

At this point, I am only about half way done, but I am really ready to ditch the spam magnet D5 version. So I am putting this live as is and will continue to work on it as I am able. Feel free to create an account or use "demo user/demouser" to log in. The demo module will reset the whole thing every day so play all you like.
