I was wondering - you have a gzip of the modules in use (at one time) - do you happen to have a dump of the database with or without content that would have all the settings already set? Even if it was at some point in time. You wouldn't have to update it, just the same time as the modules were zipped. That would be extremely helpful, obviously, for getting started making a social site with Drupal. I have been trying to get different modules (panels, nodeprofile, etc) to work and they are very complex. A default starting point would be really helpful... Thanks! The site here is awesome!
A bit of a forward question...

A bit of a forward question...
In order to do that, I would need to take the time to clear out all the user data. Plus, the database is a mess of modules being installed and uninstalled and such. I'm also somewhat opposed to simply handing a whole site over. The point of this site is to show what Drupal can do with pretty much out of the box modules and I prefer teaching people to fish rather than handing them a fish sandwich.
The tarball is only there to eliminate the drudgery of going to each project page and downloading.

Thanks for the quick response, and I understand what you are saying. It would be neat if some of the modules came with default settings that then could be modified, but as such the defaults might interfere with other module settings. Also an export this module's settings would be helpful - even for going from dev to live. That I find is the most difficult part of taking a site live is all the garbage buildup of I tried this module, nope, tried this one, nope, ah this one works. Then the db is full of the mess left behind... The content types and view can be exported, that helps a lot, but the different module's settings don't seem to be exported easily. I am going to try to set a site up similar to this (mine will also include calendar and possibly event, and not include some of the things you have). Would you mind if I continue to ask specific questions? If so, is this the best place to ask? Thanks again!
The Drupal forums are a better place to ask. I do a lot of support and will answer question on here if I have a minute, but this isn't a support site. You'll have a much larger audience if you ask on the Drupal forums than if you depend on my mood at the moment about doing support. ;)

Just a test :D
And yeah, nothing is going to be handed to you, this site is plenty!
